Technical Requirements

You can set up a virtual author visit with just a few essentials, which you likely already possess:

  1. An operating system compatible with platforms like Zoom, Google Hangout, Teams, or a similar program. (Zoom is my preferred choice.)

  2. A webcam, either built-in or external.

  3. A reliable broadband Internet connection. (Consider asking others to avoid streaming during the visit to enhance connection stability.)

  4. If using a projector screen, please ensure it accommodates all students, unless they are logging in directly via their own devices.

  5. Speakers (most projection systems come with built-in speakers).

  6. Optionally, a microphone for students or staff to ask questions, with separate microphones often providing better sound quality than built-in options.
